Team Orange Spyker hit further gearbox problems
Le Mans live race update 15June 2003 07:00

Darkness made way for daylight at Le Mans. Team Orange Spyker did not come though the night undamaged. After Hans Hugenholtz finished his single stint Tom Coronel was about to take over. However the Dutchman failed to get away. "The car stalled when I dropped the clutch. I tried it a couple of times. It wouldn't work so I decided to put the car in gear and make a rolling start. unfortunately it made things only worse. I appeared that there was oil leaking out of the gearbox which made it all stuck. So when I tried to take the rolling start the startermotor broke. Tough luck", Coronel explained. It seems that the gearbox is the achilles heel of the Spyker. The team is now busy to change the gearbox. Let's hope it will stay together until 16:00.
