Team Orange Spyker upbeat after first evening session of today
Le Mans live update 12 June 2003 22:00
In the first session of today Team Orange Spyker made good progress. Norman Simon went out first on a fresh set of tyres and a slightly changed setup as compared to yesterday. Fortunately the problems with the alternator stayed away, although it took some crossed fingers to keep it away. The whole day the team was busy to solve yesterdays problems. Team Manager Hans van Rennes said he spend the whole day driving around Le Mans trying to find the right parts. In the end the crew led by Peter van Erp managed to build up a fine race car again. The car appeared to be so good that Tom Coronel, who went out as the last of the three drivers did the best lap of the week so far on nearly worn out tyres. "The car was really good. Today we have different brake pads with which we can brake much later. Here and there we have a little understeer, but we can live with that.

In the next session of today the team will try to further improve their time on qualifying tyres. "With the setup we have now and some fresh qualifiers it must be possible to gain some extra sessions", Coronel explained.
