Team Orange Spyker starts qualifying
Le Mans live update 11 June 2003 19h45
Team Orange Spyker is now cleared to take part in qualifying. The engineers managed to find a modification to bring the car within the specified length. Yesterday during scrutineering the car appeared to be two centimeters too short. Technical Manager Peter van Erp explains the difference compared to the specs at the official test by a combination of tolerance in the wheelbearings and the hand built bodyparts. The team managed to find an simple but effective solution. The logo at the rear of the car was extended by two centimeters which brings the car within specifications.

At 19:00 Team Orange Spyker just started their Le Mans track action. Norman Simon went out for an installation lap. He came back to the pits for a regular check up of the car and went back out to do his amount of laps in qualifying. Later on Tom Coronel will get his chance to get aquainted with the C8 Double 12R.

Later on we will bring you more updates about the progress of Team Orange Spyker during the session.
